Smart grids the use of digital technology with two-way communications to continuously balance the demands as well as supply of electricity within the grid are the newest development for the water-energy nexus, says Paul Gagliardo, American Water’s manager of innovation development, a symbiotic relationship for water and power, the 20-year-veteran of water research from San Diego calls it.
